Blog Background - Vintage French Newspaper - Standard Size

For quite some time, I've been getting requests for this Vintage French Newspaper background, in the standard size. It's very difficult for me to make something exactly the same, this long after I made the original, but I did my best. So here you go!

This free background was made to be used on a Blogger blog using the Minima template for the standard number of columns.

Follow these instructions to easily add this background to your blog:

1)Make sure you are logged in and then click "Customize" at the top of your blog.
2)Click on "Add A Gadget"
3)Scroll down the box and click on "Html/Javascript"
4)In the "Content Box" cut and paste the Html code posted below.
5)Click "Save" and you are done!

<style type="text/css">body {background-image: url("http://i446.photobucket.com/albums/qq185/thebackgroundfairy/backnewsfrenchreg3.jpg"); background-position: center; background-repeat: no-repeat; background-attachment: fixed; }</style><div id="tag" style="position:absolute; left:10px; top:30px; z-index:50;width:172px; height:51px;"><a href="http://www.backgroundfairy.com" target="_blank"><img
border="0"src="http://i446.photobucket.com/albums/qq185/thebackgroundfairy/buttonlabelgrunge.jpg"/></a></div>

  5. Oh dear - I just tried putting this on my blog, it looks great, but my footer is messed up - and that's my Etsy mini! Perhaps there's some error in the code? I'll try again, and if it doesn't work I'll try another!

  6. I love this background! I really want to use it for my blog, but I have increased the width of my blog (http://pageturnersbooks.blogspot.com) from the standard width to something a bit larger. Is there any way of making the side ecorations narrower? I have tried chaning some of the code but nothing seems to happen. Thanks for your help. You are very talented.

  9. I'm so glad you all like it! The matching header is coming soon, hopefully later today.

    Hi Mona,
    Try it again, and just check to make sure that you got every bit of the code. I know it works because I've tested it twice and I have seen this in use on several people's blogs already.

    I hope this helps!

  18. Hi Karen - I just found your site! What a beautiful collection of images and with so many tips and tutorials -this is definitely a gem of a site for a digital scrapbooker and card maker like me. Gorgeous - thanks so much for creating and sharing so much! :)

    I used this 'Vintage French Newspaper' background on my site (a very low key - just for me - fun site). I was practicing changing my background and found your instructions (and Kayla's too) so nice to follow along with.

    I also added the matching header but I had trouble centering it even though I (think) I followed the instructions. Any tips for fixing it up?
