I had a request for simple natural linen background. It's been on my mind to make one like this for awhile anyway, so here it is. Simple but so chic! Great for those of you that have French or Euro themed blogs.
This free background was made to be used on a Blogger blog using the Minima template for the standard number of columns.
Follow these instructions to easily add this background to your blog:
1)Make sure you are logged in and then click "Customize" at the top of your blog.
2)Click on "Add A Gadget"
3)Scroll down the box and click on "Html/Javascript"
4)In the "Content Box" cut and paste the Html code posted below.
5)Click "Save" and you are done!
<style type="text/css">body {background-image: url("http://i446.photobucket.com/albums/qq185/thebackgroundfairy/1abacklinenreg.jpg"); background-position: center; background-repeat: no-repeat; background-attachment: fixed; }</style><div id="tag" style="position:absolute; left:10px; top:30px; z-index:50;width:172px; height:51px;"><a href="http://www.backgroundfairy.com" target="_blank"><img

Thanks for stopping by!

How you do that is totally amazing. I love all of the things you offer. One day I may get brave and try to do my own background, etc..but right now I am very unsure of myself.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely beginning toward designing a lovely Summer blog!
Mona
Just want to let you know how gracious and kind you are to offer these backgrounds!
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Louise
Thank you so much for this post. I want to let you know that I posted a link to your blog in CBH Digital Scrapbooking Freebies, under the Page 1 post on Apr. 19, 2010. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, I truly appreciate it!!

Love it Karen...do you have anything that is needlework related...a sampler, or sometype of stitching with threads and scissors?
ReplyDeleteTerri
Thanks for the background, I've installed it on my blog - that I just recently began.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this beautiful background. I was listening to your interview on Women Create and clicked over to your site. I think the linen looks very simple and coordinates nicely with my header, which I drew myself. Here is the link if you'd like to take a peek at the combination!

Thank you so much for the beautiful backgrounds and blogging tips you have shared so generously. I have only been blogging for a week and still have so much to learn!
ReplyDeleteToday I used the natural linen to lift my blog but find that the old blog background still pops up temporarily when my blog opens, could you tell me how to stop this please. Also I have added my own jpeg image to create my header and it doesn't fit neatly within the border, do you have any advice?
Many, many, many thanks,
Felicity

Hi Felicity,
ReplyDeleteYou just need to remove your old background first. You may want to check my Help page (you can find a link to it just under my header) for this and other tips. Happy blogging!!
Hi, Karen! All your templates are totally awesome! Really generous of you to offer them for free. I wanted to ask you: do you mind if I try to personalize this template and the matching header a little? Thanks in advance :}
ReplyDeleteHi Veselina,
ReplyDeleteYes, you can personalize it, as long as my tag with the link to my blog can still be seen, then that is fine!
LOVE your site.
ReplyDeleteI just found it and am totally amazed that you are doing this all for free. I love you forever!
People charge so much for their neat ideas, and I always wish I had money to spend on bloggy stuff, but I'm eighteen. I can barely eat, with my income.
So...you're awesome. I'm checking out everything you have before I pick out things, but I'll leave my name or whatever, before I take your stuff.
Thanks so, so much!
I just put this on my blog. Thank you so much!!
ReplyDeleteHi, Karen.
ReplyDeleteI love this background! Is there a way I can extend the borders? When I apply it to my ( 2 column ) blog, there is a white area on the left and right-hand sides.
Thanks! :~)
Hi Valerie,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like it! If it doesn't fit properly, you can try the 3 column version.
I luv your site....I'm officially a fan!
ReplyDeleteI love this background with the matching pink/linen header!!! Do you have a request section for this site as well? I would like to know if you have any matching buttons for this theme? I am completely obsessed with both sites...THANK YOU so much for all you do!!
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for a natural linen for some time now. Thought I'd have to pay to get the look. THANK YOU so much for providing this "simple and chic" background! I'm tickled! Hope you check it out! www.sweetavakate.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend! :)
